We put you and your friends in a room and you have to solve the puzzles and challenges inside to find the only key that will open the door and escape the room before time runs out! This is not point and click; it’s real. This is a new kind of entertainment and it’s awesome. We call it “experiential” or “immersive” entertainment.

The Old Jail was built in 1818 and survived the burning of Chambersburg by the Confederate Forces in 1864. This building of Georgian design is one of the oldest in Chambersburg and was placed on the State and National Register of Historical Sites in 1970. During more than 150 years of use as a prison, The Old Jail housed numerous local criminals, including “Lewis the Robber” and Captain John Cook, one of John Brown’s men who was captured after the unsuccessful raid on the Federal Arsenal at Harpers Ferry. The cellar contains five domed dungeons with rings in the walls and floors that were used to shackle recalcitrant prisoners. Tradition suggests these cells were also used as a way-station on the “Underground” railway to shelter runaway slaves enroute to freedom in the north.

During springtime in the arboretum, flowers of all sizes and colors burst forth as the sunlight and the rains perform their annual life-giving dance. Bulbs, herbs, and ground plants catch the season’s early sunlight to produce their flowers and seeds. Spring breezes gently kiss the early flowering trees and shrubs with the promise of fruit through autumn.

A guided tour of the Stoy Museum begins with a stroll through several early shops and offices. Throughout the museum, visitors will find fine examples of Pennsylvania German craftsmanship in such items as furniture, quilting and weaving, fraktur, and redware. Young and old enjoy browsing in the one-room schoolhouse and the toy shop before experiencing a turn-of-the century general store, stocked with everything from cookie cutters to kerosene lamps. Community industries such as carpentry, weaving, printing, firefighting, law enforcement and mining are exhibited as they were found throughout the area many years ago.
